I’ve started to send out my newsletter at the end of the month, so I thought it would be a good idea to send you a ‘mid-month’ poem,
every month from this point on. I usually write two or three poems per month, so it’s a good chance to send out my latest offering. This one isn’t really a poem - it’s just a few lines inspired by our cat, Mitzi, who is an inspiration to me in her Zen-like stillness. Here is a photo of her sitting in Zen-like stillness in the basket of my wife Pam’s bike.
I also wanted to take the opportunity to remind those
of you who live in the UK about my event in London this coming week (Nov. 14th) - details after Mitzi’s photo!
If only
If only human beings could sit like cats
in perfect oneness with themselves
and with the space they occupy
and no need to do or to be
elsewhere.
If only human beings could wait like cats
suspended outside time
and not a single thought of the future
to fill them with frustration
content to be, or to be nothing
until time begins again.
